Parents & Students

Dear Families:

Welcome to Mable Woolsey Elementary School.  Our school building houses grades preschool through fourth grade with approximately 400 students.  We provide an all-day and half-day (morning and afternoon) Pre-K classes and a full day kindergarten program.  These classes will be housed at Mable Woolsey Elementary School.

At Mable Woolsey School we believe that all children can learn. Our mission: “We will provide a safe and stimulating environment.  We will nurture a rigorous and adaptive learning community.  We will support a child's natural desire to learn.  We will inspire students to discover their fullest potential.” Our vision: “We will build a nurturing community of lifelong learners while fostering opportunities for social, emotional, and academic growth to ensure that we help create productive members of society.”  Our staff is dedicated to doing just that.

We provide our students many special programs.  Besides music, art enrichment, physical education, and library classes, Mable Woolsey Elementary School offers reading and math intervention, special education, speech and hearing services.  In addition, parents have available child care (PALS) before and after school through the YMCA, and a breakfast program.

We are proud of the outstanding cooperation between the community and Mable Woolsey School.  Our parents and teachers have a common commitment to the students.  The Parent / Teacher Organization (PTO) continues to make significant contributions to our school.  In addition, parent volunteers support the school by helping as tutors, with clerical work, as chaperones, etc.

Good communication is essential in building the teamwork necessary to foster student success.  Please follow the Mable Woolsey Elementary School Facebook Page @MableWoolseyElementary to stay informed.  In addition, a weekly school newsletter will be emailed to all parents/guardians. Parents with questions concerning their child’s classroom should communicate with their child’s teacher.  Together parents and teachers can make a difference.  We hope that this year will be rewarding for both parents and students.

The purpose of this handbook is to help parents understand specific policies and procedures at Mable Woolsey.  Hopefully it will answer many of your questions regarding our school.

Respectfully,

Jodi Keever, Principal
