Please read about our upcoming Book Blast!
MABLE WOOLSEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL is about to embark on a school-wide book drive unlike any other! Starting on 1/22/24, the school will launch their Books Are Fun Book Blast. This literacy initiative helps our students build their home libraries while also helping the school to get more books and school supplies. No matter what, this program ensures all the students at the school will take home at least one new, fun, age-appropriate book for their home libraries. However, with the help of the community, friends, and family, students can earn up to 10 books!
How does this all work? Students send out invitations to friends and family members to help them reach their goal of taking home all 10 books on their grade-level list. So, if you receive an invitation from a student you know, please click on the link in the invitation and help that child by contributing on their personal contribution page. 100% of the contributions they receive first go towards the books on their book list and then help other students needing books too. Any remaining contributions after every student earns all 10 books will go toward more books for the school and classroom supplies. Let’s help MABLE WOOLSEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL reach their goal of every student taking home all 10 books!
If you don’t know a student at the school or receive an invitation to contribute, but you’d still like to help all students at MABLE WOOLSEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL take home more books, you can contribute at: https://bit.ly/MableWoosleyBookBlast

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have to make a last minute menu switch at KJHS today. Lunch will be grilled cheese, PB&J, or salad.
The KJHS boys basketball game at home vs. Sherrard and the volleyball game at Sherrard are both CANCELED tomorrow, 1/17. Sherrard has canceled school and all after school activities due to poor road conditions that still exist in their district.
Practices tomorrow will be as follows:
Boys Basketball - 3:30 pm-5:00 pm @ KJHS
Wrestling - 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
KJHS Dance - 4:00 pm-5:30 pm @ KHS (Main Gym)
Volleyball - 5:00 pm-7:00 pm @ KJHS (7th and 8th grade)
KJHS Cheer - 7:00 pm-9:00 pm @ KJHS
Thank you for your patience and flexibility this week with all the adjustments!
As we prepare to return to school tomorrow, please be cautious walking on sidewalks and driving around KJHS. While the custodians and maintenance workers did a great job clearing paths, the snow and ice is still impacting the steps, sidewalks, and streets. Thanks and we look forward to seeing everyone in the morning!
Attention: The parking lot and front entrance of the high school are not completely clear of snow/ice due to the cold temperatures. Pease be careful when entering and exiting.
Attention: Tonight's high school home boys basketball game against Annawan is still scheduled to be played. 6pm tip-off for the JV. Varsity to follow.
